Rendering

one of the things that is really slowing down the progress of our editing is the constant need to render our footage, the process is incredibly slow but necessary for playback. we have tried to speed up this process by lowering the amount of layers that have to be rendered.

Photoshoot:

me and shelley have just finished our photoshoot, it went amazingly producign some very strong images which i shall evaluate and upload later on. wWe took a little longer to set up than planned as the lighting was hard to work with as it was new equiptment that i had previously not used, however we were able to explore a number of different poses and vantage points soem succesful and others not so much. shelley was a fantastic model and thankfully not a drama queen...keeping the model happy as a photographer can be very hard sometimes.

Photoshoot: Planning

Me and shelley are going to meet up today at 12:30 inorder to carry out our photoshoot, shelley will be the subject and i shall be the photographer, we will spend the first 30minutes setting up before we begin.

Digipak:Photoshoot Planning

Aim of shoot:
The aim of this shoot is to obtain a suitable portrait of shelley for the front panel of our digipak. This portrait should explore the theme of the song and relate to its lyrical inspiration and meaning. to do this shelley will be posed with half dead flowers, creating both a heavily literal and concpetual relationship between the image and track. not only does it relate to lyrics such as 'your love of life, your love of death' but also explores how the song is about becoming who you are, much like a flower bursts into bloom.

equiptment and props:
  • Camera
  • white screen
  • tripod
  • flash gun
  • sdhc card
  • lighting equiptment
  • dying flowers
  • clips
  • chair
  • reflector
Costume
  • plain, pale coloured tight vest- esential to keep the silhoutee of the figure natural and slim to contrast with the rigid structire of the dying flowers

Magazine Advert: Professional Examples

Here are some examples of professional Music Magazine Adverts for the promotion of Ellie Goulding's Album 'Lights' and artist 'Florence and the Machine's album 'Lungs'.

Both of these Magazine adverts are successful and effective. each is an accentuation of the artists style and the use of portraiture allows them to be easily identified, this is possible a key feature to include in our Magazine advert.  also the use of literal imagery is key in both the images, Ellie gouldings album is called light and so the magazine advert shows hundreds of circular lights surrounding the portrait, continuing this Florence welch is shown wearing a pair of lungs corresponding with the name of the album.
