Filming: rabbit

Today we filmed the rabbit, surprisingly the rabbit very quickly adapted and became comfortable around the equipment and was quite happy to get close to the camera lense etc. although having not had a chance to review the footage yet, we think we may have a few usable pieces despite having not spent long with the rabbit to reduce the amount of stress caused.

For part of our music video we want to include a rabbit, although seeminglly unrelated, part of the song is actually inspired by the death of a rabbit, the lyrics 'your love of life, your love of death' were inspired by my realtionship with death and how i strive to find beuaty within it something i first explored when photographing a dead rabbit when i was young.
when working with animals it is important not to harm or distress them, for this reason the rabbit will only be filmed for a couple of minutes at a time. prior tofilming the rabbit will also have the recording equiptment, tripod etc introduced into his environment giving him a chance  to get used to them being there.

the shoot yesterday along the beach front has proved to be very successful, we got some great footage including some spectacular birds courtesy of Shelley's brilliant framing skills. the ND filter helped us to pick up alot of the detail in the sky which exhibited spectacular bellowing clouds although unfortunately we didnt get any rain which would have given us the most perfect footage. Never the less we had a great day and was absolutely brilliant to see becky again which has given the footage a simply natural emotion through it, much better more convincing than any acting we tried, as we remembered and reminisced about our time shared.

So today is the day were of to film at Southend, extremely excited will be great to see becky again and its quite fitting considering the song is nostalgic. the weather is looking good too, cloudy and gloomy, a beautiful back drop for an array of emotion. all packed and ready to go,

everything we need to get some good footage, although its a shame there isnt someone else to carry this bag around...

Southend Shoot

We had to rearrange our shoot for the following day so that our actress Becky was able to attend. the weather was pretty similar although allot colder which made it hard to operate the camera which intern affected framing however the backdrop was a lot more dramatic due to the heavy clouds etc making for more emotional footage.

Weather report: Southend Seafront

This is the weather report for Saturday. we will be filming between the times of 12:00 and 3:00 this is the perfect time as the slightly overcast conditions will allow us to pic up detail in the sky as well as on the subject. hopefully as the day progresses we will be able to to shoot some more saddened darker shots as the sky become more overcast. this will help to create the sombre mood we are trying to portray in our music video.

Filming: Southend on sea

Me and Shelley are planning to film at Southend on sea this weekend. we are hoping to gets some footage of the sea front and the pier as well as some footage of the fun fair, were hoping to possible be aloud into the empty fair although we haven't been able to get in to contact with security prior to our shoot so it is unlikely we will bget the opportunity. we have also invited the former student Rebecca Boniface along as she has acting and filming experience and will feature in the video as well as film the parts where both Shelley and i have to be in frame.
