Digipak: Front Panel

I have worked on a number of different front panel designs for our digipak, each working with the same basic concept, utilizing the portrait of Shelley and presenting the name of the artist and album.

I really like my first attempt, the layering of the album title behind the portrait of Shelley takes it from being an incredibly flat image to becoming a more three dimensional piece. however the overall composition seems more like fashion advertisement than album cover.
Here i have changed the way that the artists name is presented, its another great composition in terms of tonal variation, however it seems a little top heavy.
This is a much more balanced composition and the use of a hand written font accentuates the personal touch of the music by Charlotte Webster, however the font that 'Charlotte Webster' is written in may be a little to hard and industrial to suit the music.
I decided to introduce a new idea this time around to try and push the composition through fashion advertisement into album cover. here i have overlayed a macro image of bubbles over Shelley's portrait. It gives the effect of Shadow and broken light which i really like however the composition is not at all balanced i do like the concept.

this seems to be a lot closer to something that could be used as a album cover, the positioning of the album title and the name of the artist is well balanced in conjunction with the portrait.

Here i just added the 'bubble' image once again and inverted the name of the album, it looks perfect and has a real three dimensional quality to it.

I made the artists name a little smaller here just to see what it looked like, it completely unbalances the image, and so the one before is much more successful.
