This is an incredibly emotive performance of the song 'nothing compares 2 u' by Sinead O Connor. Recorded just after the passing of her mother, This video is possibly one of the most emotional music as it captures real true emotion in the form of the artists becoming overwhelmed with loss and crying whilst she continues to sing. It is absolutely incredible that miss O Connor continued to sing, creating utterly beautiful footage. however lack of faith in his own artistic impulses by the director John Maybury, meant that he did not just leave the video as simply the single mid shot of Sinead O Connor and instead edited in footage of 'parc-de saint Cloud' in Paris which he had spent a lot of money achieving. this video demonstrates the power of true emotion in a video as well as how vital it is to believe in your work.
